Hastelloy C276 Round Bars

Round Bars are non-hollow cylindrical rods useful to carry out numerous industrial applications. These round bars help provide structural support to machinery, automobile parts, railway engines, coaches, etc. These bars are available in various sizes ranging from 10 mm to 125 mm.

Hastelloy C276 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum superalloy. This alloy is helpful in corrosive and structural applications like flue gas desulfurization systems, bleaching vessels, heat exchangers, chemical storage tanks, etc. Its nickel-molybdenum content is sufficient to make the surfaces harder and withstand stress in reducing temperature areas.

Hastelloy C276 enhances the toughness, stability, and durability of the round bars in hostile environments. It also contains lower silicon and carbon content, which offers good fabrication properties to these round bars.

Mangalam Metal Corporation is one of the globally leading distributors and exporters of Hastelloy C276 Round Bars. We use high-quality raw materials and high-tech machinery to manufacture round bars to meet national and international demands.

APPLICATIONS OF HASTELLOY C276 ROUND BARS

The quality and performance of Hastelloy C276 round bars depend upon three primary factors:

  • Quality of the raw materials
  • Quality of the rolling machines to give uniform shapes and sizes
  • Quality system for quenching and tempering.

Also, Hastelloy C276 is the oldest yet most efficient alloy suitable to carry out structural applications. We are presenting you with some Hastelloy properties which pair up with round bars effectively:

  • Hastelloy C276 exhibits high-yield tensile strength, ranging from 785 to 792Ha MPa. It strengthens these round bars to undertake maximum load without being fractured or tempered.
  • Hastelloy C276 maintains oxidation resistance at high temperatures, ranging from cryogenic to 20120 F, protecting these round bars against pitting and cracking corrosions.
  • Hastelloy C276 Round Bars can withstand hydrogen fluoride gas in temperature areas ranging from 9320 F to 11120 F, which is approximately 50-times longer than any other alloys.

Following are some industries and their applications where you will find our Hastelloy C276 Round Bars installed.

HOW TO PRODUCE HASTELLOY C276 ROUND BARS

Following are the three basic steps we use to produce Hastelloy Round Bars:

Step 1: Steel Making Process

First, we need to take nickel, chromium, iron, molybdenum, and other chemical compositions of Hastelloy C276 into a blast furnace and melt them. The resulting molted Hastelloy will form as an ingot casting.

Step 2: Primary and Secondary Hastelloy Making Process

Usually, these Hastelloy ingots contain almost 10% of impurities like carbons, which we have to remove. To do so, we use the Electric Ark Furnace (EAF) method. Under this method, we heat the molten iron ingot at a temperature of 1650-Degree C to remove the impurities up to maximum level and convert it into a high-grade variant.

Onwards, this refined molten iron undergoes supplementary processes, including degassing, steering, or argon bubbling to adjust itself with other Incoloy compositions.

Step 3: Casting

After finishing Step 2, the molten Hastelloy needs to cold down to form solid molds. Once cooled, we can cut them into our desired lengths depending upon the application. Further, the products are hot rolled in the Rolling Mills to achieve our desired shapes or sizes.

Markings and Packing

Product packaging serves to protect the products inside. Mangalam Metal Corporation effectively ensures all the products are deliverable to our clients securely. In the case of exports, we follow all international standard protocols of packaging.

Often, we export them in wooden cases. We mark our products with Grades, Lot Numbers, Size, Degree, and our Trademark. We also make custom markings on the products as per the requirements of our clients.

Quality Assurance

At Mangalam Metal Corporation, all products are subject to strict supervision at each production chain, right from purchasing the raw materials to dispatching products. All the processes undergo inspections for conformity to ASTM, ASME, MSS, and JIS codes and standards.
