Hastelloy C22 Perforated Sheets resists the formation of grain boundary precipitates in the weld heat affected zone, thus making it suitable for most chemical process applications in the as-welded condition. Alloy C22 Plates is normally supplied in the solution-annealed condition, where this treatment is carried out at 2050ºF (1120 Degree C) followed by water quench or rapid air cool. Some typical applications of Alloy C22 Coils include equipment components in chemical and petrochemical organic chloride processes and processes utilizing halide or acid catalysts.

Hastelloy C22 Sheets is especially used for high temperature environments, impure inorganic acid and organic acid (such as formic acid and acetic acid), sea-water corrosion environments. UNS N06022 Plate exhibits very high resistance to chloride-induced pitting and crevice attack, forms of corrosion to which the austenitic stainless steels are particularly prone. DIN 2.4602 Sheets should not be used in service temperatures above 1250 Degree F due to the formation of detrimental phases which form above this temperature.
