The age-hardenable alloy is easily manufactured, even into complex pieces. Welding an age-hardened Inconel 718 Cross Pipe Fittings will result in the formation of a softened heat-affected zone. The precipitation of this nickel – (aluminum, titanium, and niobium) phases in Inconel 718 Pipe Fittings is induced by heat treating in the temperature range of 1100 Degree F to 1500 Degree F. This is the preferred treatment in tensile – limited applications for Inconel 718 Pipe Fittings as it produces the best transverse ductility in heavy sections, impact strength and low temperature notch tensile strength. When compared to nickel-based super alloys toughened with aluminum and titanium, Inconel 718 Elbow Pipe Fittings has good weldability.
